Blue Tenny
Beast Name: Blue Tenny Type: Bird Appearance: Althought it resembles a blue jay from the Earthern realm, this blue feathered bird is smaller and can sit within the palms of someone's cupped hands. It can also surround itself in blue fire when threatened. Temperament: This little blue bird is very similar to a blue jay and neutral when it comes to other creatures. When threatened, however, they are known to either flee or dive-bomb phoenix style. Environment: These birds prefer the sanctuary provided to them by forests that have tall, green trees that obscure them. Since these forests can be found in only the Summer Court, this court is where they'll be. Additionally, some of these birds might be adventurous enough to brave going beyond their forest and into cities or towns, especially since those places have less competition for nesting among this race. Population: They are quite common in the Summer Court, though only in forests and the warmest of places. Magic Capability: These birds are capable of manipulating small amounts of (blue) fire magic, making them small, blue phoenixes of sort. In addition, their singing has an effect on surrounding creatures, calming them and making these creatures protective of the bird(s). Fae are immune to the effect of the singing but are still enamored with how beautiful it sounds. Companionable: Yes. This bird, while unable to be tamed, it is often captured and (specially) caged for the sweet tunes they sing. Fae are big fans of the arts. Other Properties: They are an entertaining, unwilling pet to fae nobles or other races who appreciate good music.

Type: Fish Appearance: The keoloth is the koi of the realm of Faerie. Unlike its Earthern counterparts, however, it is completely white and the fins have fine, hair-like filaments. Temperament: Like regular fish, the keoloth are skittish when it comes to things bigger or more dangerous than it. Environment: The keoloth can survive in any body of water. Population: These fish are rather common, found in any body of water bigger than a puddle, in the wild or in fish farms. They're the rabbits of the water. Magic Capability: Regardless of their fishy minds, this creature requires specialized equipment to catch, as it can go intangible for seconds at a time to evade being eaten or captured, though this is limited to water environments. Companionable: Yes, this fish can be caught as a pet, just like a koi from the Earthern realm can be. Other Properties: Keoloth are a good source for food, but they can also be harvested for their hair-like filaments that make up their fins. The filaments, through a specific process, can be used to create zones that nullify intangibility (which is used for keoloth fish farms).

Beast Name: Waibe (Wah-Bee) Type: Amphibian Appearance: In the beginning, a waibe starts out as a translucent, egg-like blob. It takes close to two years for them to develop into their equestrian form. This equestrian form of theirs shows some plantlike characteristics along their spine, from the tip of their lizard-like tail to their horn-like growths. They are often white in color, though the plantlike characteristics can vary from mostly blue (common) to light or dark purple. Temperament: While in the wild, they can be highly aggressive and untrusting. However, just like horses they are able to have all types of personalities. Environment: During the first stage of their life, like amphibians, they are stuck growing within bodies of water. In the next (and perhaps final) stage of growth, they are capable of moving on land, though they remain tied to bodies of water to remain internally and externally hydrated (they must prevent themselves from becoming dry). Population: Waibes are rare, though endangered would be a term associated with them as well. Without many bodies of water around, they are limited when it comes to reproduction. In addition, they are often hunted for their meat or their spines, which can be used to create water breathing tinctures. Magic Capability: Companionable: Yes and no. Some denizens (specifically high fae) capture waibe and sometimes showcase them in zoos of sorts, creating private pens and providing exclusive showings to the nobility. Despite this, the waibe cannot be tamed, nor can they be made into pets. They remain wild in every sense of the word. Other Properties: They can be a source of entertainment for the nobility (much to the dismay of the waibe themselves), can be hunted for the meat some common fae or be'tial prefer, or can be harvested for their kelp-y spines for water breathing tinctures.

Type: Mammal Appearace: The dirilla is a deer-like prey animal covered in fur that might be white, brown, tan, or black. Males will have antlers upon their heads, whereas the females will not. Additionally, plant-like growth melds with the fur on their chest and, for the males, aligns along their antlers, making the dirilla look as if it is one with the very things it eats - nature. Temperament: Among the dirilla, only the male is aggressive, but only for defensive purposes (against threats or rivals). Does and fawns will flee when a threat draws near, whereas the buck (if nearby) will try to fight them off. If fleeing is not an option, the last resort for a dirilla would be to charge the threat and maneuver around them. Otherwise, most of them are quite gentle, especially among the humanoid races that provide them with sanctuary / protection. Environment: The dirilla are largely found in the Winter Court, but some variants can be found in the Summer Court as well. They take to forested areas, but are also fond of open meadows, plains, and hilly areas. Population: These creatures are of a decent number, though it isn't uncommon for there to be more does than bucks in a herd. Magic Capability: The dirilla are slightly intelligent, yet highly perceptive creatures. If a potential threat comes within a certain distance (varies), the herd might suddenly move or remain. This is largely due to them sensing whether or not the new party seeks to hunt them... or hang around them peacefully. In addition, the dirilla can camouflage their fur among the trees, making them seem as if they are bushes, trees, or plant growth. Companionable: They cannot be made into pets or mounts, but they might consider being near a humanoid for short or long lengths of time, especially if they perceive no threat from that humanoid and develop a sort of... fondness. It is not unheard of a dirilla doe treating a humanoid child as if they were its own. Other Properties: As can be expected, this creature is considered a prey animal, providing meat for carnivoes and omnivores alike. The floral growths within their chest fur or along their antlers can also be harvested for consumable 'herbs', alchemical ingredients, or even specialized clothes. Their fur can also be used for clothing.

Beast Name: Ruxeox (Ru-ecks)Type: Reptilian Appearance: Unlike their amphibian counterparts (the waibe), the ruxeox are equestrians with a reptillian flare. They're often scaled and ridged from their head to the beginning of the back, almost a mane-like appearance, whereas the rest of them is rather smooth to touch. Additionally, a sharp horn grows from the middle of their heads, making them resemble the unicorns of Earthern fairy tales. Lastly, they are often white or beige in color with purple or blue applied to patterned scales, the mouth/beak, and its horn. Temperament: The ruxeox are considered to have an ill temperament at first, showing a territorial and aggressive side when outsiders infringe on their herd. However, once they are broken, they display their more hidden loyalty, protectiveness, and playfulness towards their master. Environment: These equestrians prefer mountainous and even hilly environments, the preference of high ground determined by the protection for their eggs. Population: They aren't too common, but they aren't rare, either. There are plenty of eggs to lay, but limited places that aren't too cold or too hot but are within their preferred environment. Magic Capability: Their speed is enhanced, as is their sturdiness (due to their scales). They also do well in extreme hot or cold environments, though they have a preference for moderate temperatures all the same. Additionally, they are capable of mild telepathy and empathy, though this is only achieved with whom they deem family or their master. This allows them to share their emotions with them, as well as images as a source of communication, making them somewhat intelligent. Lastly, they are quite strong, able to pull or carry large loads, as well as do some solid kicks or trampling when attacking. They are formidable opponents. Companionable: They can be kept as mounts, though they will only ever be broken by one master. For the rest of their lives, they will be dedicated to that master. Other Properties: As known, they are considered great mounts, but their owner is often determined by the court who catches some. Prospective masters of their own ruxeox are either being rewarded, worth the effort, or have a high standing. Additionally, to those who don't respect the ruxeox, these equestrian-reptillians can be harvested for their hides to make armor, their horns turned into either trophies or weapons.

Type: Mammal Appearance: The blicsus greatly resembles a warhog or boar in the Earthern realm, but is much bigger (x2) and deadlier. It has horns that jut out from its hide, along with jagged, unnaturally long teeth that join the regular set of tusks found on a normal boar. Other, spikey growths litter the front half of their bodies and their eyes, full of piggy rage, are pure white. Temperament: These creatures are one of the most temperamental beasts anyone will ever meet. They're very territorial, aggressive, and wild. Nothing can tame them, as their short fuse goes off the moment they see someone or something moving. They even battle their own kind, though they are more lenient there, as the loser is often disabled in some way and removed from the winner's newly (or remaining) conquered territory. Environment: The blicsus can thrive anywhere, especially woods and forests. They're not picky about where they live, only who lives with them. Population: Due to their aggressive and territorial nature, they are not very good at reproducing, thus they are seen as a rarity. Still, being rare is better than being outright endangered, so they do keep the population up... somewhat. Magic Capability: The blicsus has an enhanced, sturdy hide that can drastically reduce the damage made by sharp weapons, as well as reduce the effectiveness of extreme heat or cold. Additionally, they bulk up when enraged, their muscles briefly inflating with extra strength to make their charge much deadlier. Lastly, they are much better than bloodhounds when it comes to a scent - the moment they match a scent with a moving target, they will hunt that target down until either the target or it dies, or their scent is magically blocked. Companionable: No. The only way they could possibly be companionable is if they were either mounted or stuffed. Other properties: Though they're tough to take down, they are well worth the hunt. They provide more meat than most hunted animals and their leather is rather thick, sturdy.

Type: Mammal Appearance: Fox-like in appearance, these canines are quite beautiful. Their markings are assorted and never the same, all unique. Additionally, they have a single horn adorning their forehead, making them the unicorn of canines. The colors they come in are white, orange, brown, and even shades of black / grey. Temperament: These gentle creatures are known to be wary, but friendly. This does not make them incapable of defending themselves. Indeed, they are cunning enough that they might lead their aggressors to a trap or another hostile. In short, they do not fight their own battles. Environment: The flatsa live in forested areas, specifically within the Summer Court. They find groves, hide them, and only wander out to hunt for small prey, drink, or to seek a mate. Population: They are considered the unicorns of the canines for more than their appearance. Indeed, it is rare to see one, even rarer to find a pup. They are a long-lived, barely seen creature. Magic Capability: Obscurration, misdirection, speed, and intelligence are their magical arsenal. They have the intelligence to devise a trap or encounter, the ability to hide their groves through both a glamour / illusion and suggestive aura (to 'look away, forget it's there'), and they can flee quickly. Companionable: While they are not outright aggressive, they are also not good pets or mounts. They might be fine being around humanoids for a time, especially for handouts, but they'll remain free. An acquaintanceship is the closest they'll be to a humanoid, but even then, they'll be timid to get too close. Other properties: Their furs can be harvested and made into exotic clothing, their horns can be powdered for alchemy or used for customized accessories / weapons, or they can be stuffed / mounted.

Type: Amphibian Appearance: The closet known earth creature are the garden lizards, though these mystical beasts tend to be anywhere between three or five times bigger than their Earthern counterparts. Rabixes, while they look as if they are made out of jello, they are not, nor do the share the same taste with the earthly treat. Instead, their own taste is determined by what they have recently eaten. This highly depends on their size and environment. Also, the environment where their egg hatches will reflect in their scale tone. An example would be if it hatched within the realms of a volcano, resulting in them possibly sharing the same hue as lava or the newly made ignis rock. The known hues that they can come in from, common to least, is: green, yellow, purple, gray, black, and then blue. Temperament: These creatures are very skittish around other creatures.Defense Mechanisms: Due to their skittishness, they tend to blend into their environment. Another defense mechanism that these creatures have is that, when threatened, they will secrete putrid smelling liquid. While this liquid might look like a sweeting tasting juice, it's just as awful as it smells. Environment: These creatures are very adaptable and are able to live in many different places. However, you can mostly find them hiding in between cracks and underneath rocks. These creatures need to survive in an area with a food and water source. Their diet can consist of insects and small fish, such as guppies if they are big enough. Population: These creatures are quite common, even if they usually only lay one egg at once. However, it's not unheard of them having two at once. These creatures are able to lay eggs twice per breeding season. Magic Capability: The only magic capability these creatures have is being able to temper the heat of the air against their scales. This allows those in cold temperatures to survive. Companionable: Yes, the rabix can be pets. These creatures are surprisingly smarter than the typical garden lizard. They are able to recognize their owners, much like the bearded dragons of the Earthern realm. Other properties: TBD

Leyr Cat
Type: Mammal - Fantastical Appearance: Similar to tigers of Earth, these cats are powerful felines with stripes, though they are divided by the elements they use. Light leyr cats are white with black stripes, much like a bengal tiger, and glow with an inner light. Dark or shadow leyr cats are black with white stripes, their fur often drifting in lengths of shadow. Temperament: Leyr cats of either light or dark are not territorial or aggressive, but they are not passive when threatened either. Additionally, they are known to offer assistance. For light leyrs, they often come across the lost traveler, providing a sort of 'guiding light' service. Dark leyrs, in direct opposition of the Winter Court's brutality and cruelty, is known for finding travelers in danger or being attacked and offering assistance. This interference is rare, though, and only apply to worthy souls. Environment: They can be found in the Winter Court or Summer Court, though never in the same place twice. Population: The leyr cats are not very common, but it is theorized that it is because most of them lay in hiding, whether it be in another realm (like the Between) or in a place of Faerie that no one has discovered and remains hidden. Thus, it is not 100% certain just how populous or endangered this species is. Magic Capability: These felines are almost as intelligent as a humanoid, having their own means of communication via telepathic images/impressions, as well as moderate manipulation of their element, whether it be light or dark. When it comes to their elemental manipulations, they are capable of manipulating their element to enhance them physically (make them near invisible in specific environments, add physical manifestations of the element to their claws for extra sharpness). They can also blind their foes, whether it be from creating light as sharp as having a sunup close or removing light to blend in the dark. They do not make it easy to attack them or fight back. Companionable: No. They are too independent to want to bond to, be a pet or mount for, or otherwise seek companionship with anything or anyone, save their own families. They do, however, have a contract with the monarchs of the courts they reside in, allowing them their independence in exchange for assistance in wars or patrolling borders for spies and assassins. Other Properties: For hunters who do not abide with the list of hunt-able creatures presented by the courts, the fur coats of these cats are good money. Rarely are they successful in hunting the cat, though.

Beast Name: Alloru pronounced (Al-Lor-Rue) Type: Mammal Appearance: This clever, but common creature is a type of mammal. Allorus are much bigger than normal squirrels, has four legs, four ears, two small horns, a large bushy tail, and a small pair of useless wings behind its ears (which puff out when they get territorial). They have soft, smooth skin covered in thick, coarse hairs which is usually either dark grey, brown, tan, white, or a combination of these colors. Most allorus have colored spots on their fur that are usually found lining the darker areas that lead all the way to the tip of the tail. They have large front teeth that are capable of chewing through the toughest metals and lumber. Temperament: These creatures are quite frenzied, especially when mating or protecting their young, and they'll fiercely defend their territory. Despite being territorial, they are quite skittish and avoid bigger creatures altogether. If threatened, they will mark their territory or chew on things like clothes, shoes, equipment, and even houses that are too close to their burrows. They're similar to Earth dogs in this way. Behavior: They're diurnal and rely on their hearing and extra senses to get around. Most males with round, blue eyes have relatively poor sight. They mate twice a month, and they mate with one partner for life. Allorus make a range of fairly low-pitched sounds to indicate discoveries, dangers, or others needs of communication with each other. Environment: Allorus commonly live in warm areas and are extremely common. They're omnivores but they relatively eat nuts, berries, and roots but will dine on insects and smaller creatures at times. They mainly burrow in the roots of trees or under large rocks. Population: Due to their commonality and the fact these creatures mate twice a month, there is a large amount of them. They are often seen as pests in certain areas and are a great source of fur and meat. Magic Capability: Like normal squirrels, they spend more time in the trees or searching for food than anything else. Allorus have amazing amounts of stamina and speed as well as a silent stride that allows them to make no sound when doing so. Being around big predators and due to their skittish nature, these creatures also have the ability called Mysticism. Mysticism causes the target to hallucinate or make confused thoughts. Companionable: No, they are not pets. Other properties: They're a pestilence that can be a great source of food, especially since they're plentiful in number. In addition to that, their fur can be used for leatherworking and their teeth can be used as primitive tools in a pinch.

Dragons
Type: Reptile - Fantastical Appearance: Like in myths and legends from the Earthern realm, dragons are big, reptilian creatures with horns, spikes, and (often) wings. Their appearance is dependent on their environment, as those of air might be smaller and more agile whereas those of the sea might have webbed feet, fins, and gills. Temperament: Dragons were rather neutral when they came across sapient species, but they could quickly become hostile or territorial if the sapients overstayed their welcome or became a threat. Environment: Their environment was completely dependent on their heritage and where their eggs were laid / hatched. If a fire dragon and a water dragon made an egg together, but it was hatched in a volcano, then the offspring would likely be a volcano dragon. Very rarely was there a true hybrid of multiple types. Population: Extinct. While some of the dragons migrated to the realm of Faerie when their home-realm was destroyed, their numbers quickly dwindled due to repopulating difficulties, being slain by the natives (usually the fae) for differing reasons, and the lack of the appropriate environment (for types such as sea and volcano dwellers). Magic Capability: Intelligent, they are considered sentient and are just barely considered beasts. Additionally, they have 'breath weapons' that match their type (i.e. fire for volcano-dwellers, pressurized water for ocean/lake dwellers, etcetera). Lastly, most types of dragons can fly, but others might be land or water bound, resulting in abilities such as camouflage or water breathing (to name a few). Companionable: No. As they are sentient, they were technically their own 'person'. Being a mount or a pet was considered degrading among them. Additionally, they did not want to get involved with the pettiness of sapient squabbles and wars. Other Properties: When they still existed, their scales (when slain) made the best armor and weapons. As some dragon types had a hoarding habit, they were also a good source of wealth. The blood of dragon was also used by alchemists, who created concoctions of great (often miraculous) healing or immunity for those who drank it.

Unicorns
Type: Mammal - Fantastical Appearance: Unicorns simply look like horses with a single horn protruding from their forehead. The rarest of them often have a pure white or black coat, but others closely resemble the horses from the Earthern realm (with the exception of the horn). Temperament: As they are considered the purest of beasts, they are quite neutral, friendly even. In most cases of being threatened, they will choose to flee, but their stallions might show aggression and the leader(s) of the herd will be especially aggressive to threats. Environment: Unicorns are capable of finding and/or creating well-hidden meadows and valleys, often with an entrance hidden by mountainous terrain or woods/forests with thick thickets. Population: Endangered. These creatures are admired for their beauty and magic, making them a bounty on hooves. They are either hunted for materials or to be placed in captivity for entertainment purposes. Magic Capability: These horned equines are empathic in nature, allowing them to determine friends, foes, or even share their feelings with others. Their magic also allows them to nudge nature in a certain direction or create illusions. Lastly, they are known to bring good luck upon those they pass who have pure or even good hearts / intentions. Companionable: No. They are forever wild, even if they are taken into captivity. Unicorns will never allow a rider and aren't likely to befriend captors. They tolerate people being around them, but only if those people have pure intentions. Other Properties: Their horns can be ground to dust for a variety of alchemic creations. Blood drawn from a unicorn is known to extend the drinker's life by a few decades. Their coats make decent leather armor, though there are no great benefits compared to other leathers.
